
As a torch-bearer for the NFL’s Way To Play initiative, LeCharles was appointed as the NFL’s Senior Advisor of Player Performance and Development in 2021. Being named for this role came from decades of preparation. A former NFL Pro Bowl Center and Guard who has built a globally recognized brand over the last decade. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he is a member of the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame. LeCharles has transcended his days on the gridiron. Through his philanthropic efforts, as a staunch advocate of education and empowering youth, LeCharles has committed over $3 million in educational endowments to underprivileged inner-city youth. Staying true to his commitment to learning, LeCharles was selected to attend the NFL’s Broadcast Boot Camp and quickly became a notable sports media member. He was a contributing writer for several national outlets, a television host for the Big Ten Network (The Pulse), a radio host at ESPN Cleveland, and was a credentialed media member while covering Super Bowl XLV.
His passion for educating birthed an entrepreneurial spirit that lead him to establish the L.Bentley Offensive Line Academy, which was the world’s first brick and mortar training center for offensive line athletes. LeCharles has worked himself in to becoming the world’s leading authority in developing offensive line athletes. He holds certifications in strength & conditioning (CSCS), sports nutrition (CISSN), Olympic weightlifting (USAW), Functional Movement Screening, Facial Stretch Therapy, and has traveled the world to attend performance seminars. His knowledge base for performance enhancement combined with his on-field football knowledge led LeCharles to patent several of his inventions that are sold through one of his businesses, LB Design. His equipment is currently used by NFL teams, over 80 NCAA FBS programs, hundreds of high schools, and some of the most elite international football clubs. LeCharles’ consulting company, LB Consulting, was retained by Iowa State University, and was the first ever offensive line specific consulting service provided within NCAA football. Iowa State went on to have one of the most prolific program turnarounds in the history of college football.
As the founder of AMDG Sports and the leader of the AMDG Sports Team, LeCharles has overseen the development and careers of some of the NFL’s best offensive linemen. Although he is not a sports agent, LeCharles has played a key role in the free agent contract signings of over $200 million in NFL contract value. His ability to strategize is publicly highlighted through his negotiated brand extending partnerships with Ford, Nike, and Power Lift. LeCharles also founded AMDG Sports Performance, the most preeminent offensive line training center in the world. In 2022, the facility was hand-picked to train athletes from around the world as part of the NFL’s International Pathway Program. He is a recognized global educator after hosting seminars throughout Europe and the United States, and authored two best-selling books. LeCharles is the father of 6 (5 boys & 1 girl) takes great pride in pushing himself and others to see possibilities that are far beyond the status quo.
